When I was in elementary school, two best friends were sitting separately on the bus one day. They’d had a fight and were giving each other the silent treatment. I took turns sitting with one, then the other, seeking to help them resolve whatever their issue was.

In high school, I was often a confidant to friends who were having a hard time in their relationships. I was a good listener and a voice of reason. (I was also totally codependent, but that’s a separate issue!). Bottom line: I’ve loved helping people heal their relationships my whole life.

My education and training since then has focused primarily on 4 things:

  • helping couples have better marriages (better communication, worthwhile fights, real intimacy)

  • helping people struggling with sex addiction (or out of control sexual behavior) break free from shame

  • helping those who’ve experienced betrayal trauma find healing and hope

  • helping fellow believers wrestle with (and often deepen) their faith

Here’s a bit more about my background, training, and what led me to this work.

  • I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, and I’ve worked in community mental health, private practice, and specialized clinics since 2007.

I began my specialty in sex addiction and betrayal trauma in 2013, training under Dan Drake at, what is now, Banyan Therapy Group in Studio City, California.

    I’m trained in:

    • Gottman Method Couples Therapy

    • Relational Life Therapy

    • Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (APSATS)

    • Sex Addiction (IITAP)

    I bring in tools from:

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

    • polyvagal theory

    • cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)

    • dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

    • acceptace and commitment therapy (ACT)

    • attachment theory

    • existential psychology

  • I believe healthy communities begin with healthy families. And healthy families are based on healthy couples.

Building a strong, healthy marriage isn’t automatic. It takes humility, honesty, and work. It requires each person to yield—to let go of ego, control, fear. Most of us resist that. Even when we want to change, we don’t always know how.

That’s where I come in. I help you clarify your values, understand what’s in the way, and build the skills you need to create the marriage you want. It’s not about fixing your partner—it’s about growing the relationship.

  • I specialize in working with individuals and couples navigating:

    • Sex and porn addiction

    • Betrayal trauma and infidelity recovery

    • Communication breakdowns and unresolved conflict

    • Emotion regulation, stress, and spiritual struggle

If you’re navigating any of these challenges, I offer a safe and structured space to heal, grow, and move forward—together. You are not alone, and you’re not beyond repair.

  • Outside of therapy, I’m usually at home in Southern California with my husband, our two boys, and our 6 backyard chickens (who all have names of course).

I’ve been a Christian my whole life, even through seasons of doubt and deconstruction. I believe faith has to be questioned in order to be real. When I bring Scripture into sessions, it’s not to preach—it’s to invite curiosity. If you’re a fellow follower of Jesus, I’ll challenge you—and I welcome your challenge in return. Iron sharpens iron.

I love analogies and metaphors and use them often: from sitcoms like The Office and Parks & Rec to epic stories like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.

Oh, and I’m a fan of coffee, gardening, and sneaking away to one of the local hot springs when I get the chance.

If you’re ready to stop spinning your wheels and start doing the real work, I’d love to walk with you.
